Default I do not have time to answer individual trader emails effective Jan 2009

Starting January 2009 I will *not* be able to answer individual trader emails.
The one and only time you will be able to ask me questions is during my webinars
and live seminars.
Absolutely no emails will be answered anymore, due to the
volume of email I've been getting - sorry, but I'm trading & running this business,
with no time to answer individual questions via email anymore (I've gotten, and
answered, literally thousands of emails since starting DTU in 1999, however I need
to focus my time and energy more effectively; so you'll still be able to ask me
questions, but it needs to be during scheduled webinars/seminars, so I can help
everyone at the same time, vs daily emails -- thanks for understanding!).

Hi Traders,

It's been a terrific year, even in a down economy, and I wish
you all the best for a great year in 2009. A few people who've
been insistently asking me questions via email need a reminder.
My gentle reminders haven't worked, so here's a more detailed,
completely candid policy update for 2009. I'm also posting
this on the forum and will be referring to it anytime anyone
ever emails me again. I will not answer any further emails.

** Due to the volume of emails received, I cannot answer
individual trader's emails anymore, effective Jan 1, 2009 **
As much as I'd like to, I need to remind the few dozen of you
who email me too often, that I won't answer individual trader
questions, for several reasons:

+ I'm not your free advice counselor: I don't do things for
free, I'm a professional -- so please stop asking for free advice.
Just because you buy an information product from me does
not mean you also get free advice as though I were your
personal consultant. Besides, it's not fair to me, to ask a
professional for free advice. Would you do that with your doctor,
or CPA, or other paid professional? Nope. I need to set fair
boundaries. It's not right to try and take my time up without
compensating me, by asking me for personal email access or
consulting time and not pay me. And because I do not offer my
time for money any longer, there is no way to ask me questions
(except solely during seminars/webinars).

When I had my Fortune-500 clients:
http://www.KenCalhoun.com/clients.htm
None of them would dare call me on the phone or email me
to ask free advice, and neither should any trader. They
would contact me to schedule a paid hour (or more) of my
time, to ask me for my advice. I no longer offer my time
to people on an hourly basis, at any price (I used to charge
$2K/hour, but I have since stopped that)...so the *only* time
you can ask questions of me is during my live events, in person.
That's it. Period.

+ No time: as I am a one-man company who has thousands of
customers who I'm trying to take care of, in addition to
my own trading each day, I don't have time. If I took just 2
minutes each day to answer 100 emails, that would be over 3
hours of my valuable time, time which I'd rather spend trading
and/or with my family. So I can't answer emails anymore.

+ Even if I wanted to, I cannot answer individual questions
since I'm not a registered invest.ment advisor, so I can't
answer your questions even if I wanted to, per SEC regs.

+ And, for that reason, I can't answer questions like "I'm this
kind of trader, which of your systems is best for me?" since
I can't advise you regarding suitability of trading products.
(I'm not your investment advisor).

+ Just because you buy something from me does not mean you
get to ask a ton of trading questions; my products are under-
priced as they are, so you're getting a great deal. If there's
a problem with shipment/delivery/password access etc, you can
inquire about that, though I've had very very few of those.
Buying something from me does NOT mean you get to email me
with questions; that's not included, and never will be. I'm busy.

If you buy a book or video from Donald Trump, would you think
to bother him with your questions about real estate? Or buy
a video or seminar from Tony Robbins, do you get to email him
incessantly with self-development questions? Or Brian Tracy?
Or any other well-known public figure? Nope. And I have
to stop answering email questions, too - or I won't be able to
have enough time for my trading, business and family.

+ I started the www.TradingTalk.com forum that you're welcome
to participate in, to talk about trading ideas with other
active traders; post any questions or comments there.

I've documented what I've learned in my various trading
resources, but I will not be answering any individual trader
questions ever again. Never email me, I won't be accessible.
(except for folks who've been my friends over the years, and
others I have a positive dialogue with who've become friends,
and even then, not for trading-specific questions).

Unlike others in the industry, I don't "invent" assistants to
pretend to answer emails, nor do I have "help ticket" systems
which are unhelpful. I just tell you like it is. I'm going
to be trading much more aggressively throughout next year
and beyond, so I will not be able to answer your questions.

CUSTOMERS vs NON-CUSTOMERS:
Also, effective 2009, I'm going to be splitting my email list
by customer status (preferred) vs all the freebie folks on this
list, who will not be getting my emails often anymore, nor my
trading videos. Only paid customers will be getting those.

And of course I regularly purge my email lists of emails from
people from countries where there are a lot of pirates and/or
don't purchase from me.

I want to focus my energy on those who are my customers, and
not waste my time answering lots of emails and/or other things
that stand in the way of my making more money for myself.
Those who aren't paid won't be getting access anymore.

PRICES GOING UP IN 2009
Also I'm raising all my prices in 2009, as I believe the value
and authenticity I deliver is well worth it. I'm moving to a
"Tiffany" type price model, and will be gearing my business
for serious traders who are qualified, not freebie-seeking
people who waste my time and energy (and/or try to mooch
free information from me and steal my time via email questions).

NO ADVERTISING ACCEPTED
And as always, I do not do link exchanges nor do I accept ads
from anyone in the world. I'm rich and don't need it. So for
all the vendors out there, please stop asking, I don't put ads
on any of my sites nor emails. Never have, never will. I want
my traders to enjoy an advertising-free exclusive authentic learning
experience with me via my sites - so no ads.

Have a great trading year!

Dec 1, 2009: Looks like most folks respected my wishes; thanks. Again, to ask questions you can participate in one of my occasional webinars, I give generously of my time during those and take time to answer all questions. But I can't be interrupted daily with email trading questions from thousands of traders, it doesn't make sense for me to spend my life answering emails for free, does it? Thanks for your interest and support!

Regards,

Ken

p.s. per sec/cftc/ftc regs, none of this is to be construed as trading recommendations, it's just for educational use only, so you can
"peek over my shoulder" to see what I'm doing with some of my trades. See www.daytradingu.com/disclaim.htm for full disclaimer.
These pages contain excerpts of actual trades I've made; it's not a complete record of every single trade I make. Some days I'll take trading wins or losses that I do not take the time to screencap and post online; it's a partial record of some of my trades. Note that I am not making income nor profitability claims of any kind. Most of my personal income comes from my training business, and though I'm a net profitable (small-share, under 5k shares per trade) trader, I am still working to get to where I can make more from my trades than I do from my business training traders. I make money from both. I try to capture the best highlights so you can see practical examples of what I'm trading. No representation is being made that other traders, including customers, will be able to trade like I do. Average/typical trader results are that all traders incur trading losses, since trading is a speculative, high-risk activity.
