I do not have time to answer individual trader emails effective Jan 2009

Starting January 2009 I will *not* be able to answer individual trader emails/voicemails.
The one and only time you will be able to ask me questions is during my webinars
and live seminars. Absolutely no emails/voicemails not related to specific orders,
will be answered anymore, due to the staggering volume of trader emails I've been getting.

I do not answer "how to trade" related questions during the free webinars I offer; those
preview events do not include Q&A with me. The one time I do answer specific trading
strategy-related questions is during the webinars for paid members, for those courses that
do include webinars (like BreakoutMastery.com and StockTradingSuccess.com ; not for my
downloadable nor online courses, which do not include webinars).

For presale questions, please read the individual site for whichever course you're interested
in. All courses sold separately; all sales final.

I'm trading & running this business, with no time to answer individual questions via
email anymore (I've gotten, and answered, literally thousands of emails since starting
DTU in 1999, however I need to focus my time more effectively; so you'll still be able to
ask me questions, but it needs to be during scheduled webinars/seminars, so I can help
everyone at the same time, vs daily emails -- thanks for understanding!).

Buying something from me does Not mean you get to email me personally with questions;
that's not included, and never will be. I could get a secretary to screen emails and send
some impersonal "Mr. Calhoun cannot answer you individually", but I'd rather not.

I do welcome questions during premium webinars, for courses that include them (not the free
Saturday or other preview ones); but please do not ever email me with individual questions,
because I don't have the time or resources to individually answer email questions. With
thousands of traders it's not feasible.

And note that per regulatory requirements, I cannot ever give advice about specific
trades (because I'm not your personal registered investment advisor), so do not ask
something like "Ken is the market going up?" or "Ken I'm in NFLX from 70 what should
I do?" or similar.


Hi Traders,

It's been a terrific year, even in a down economy, and I wish
you all the best for a great year in 2009. A few people who've
been insistently asking me questions via email need a reminder.
My gentle reminders haven't worked, so here's a more detailed,
completely candid policy update for 2009 and beyond. I'm also
posting this on the forum and will be referring to it anytime anyone
emails me for trading advice. I cannot answer personal emails.

** Due to the volume of emails received, I cannot answer
individual trader's emails anymore, effective Jan 1, 2009 **
As much as I'd like to, I need to remind the few dozen of you
who email me too often, that I won't answer individual trader
questions, for several reasons:

+ Note that it's still okay to contact me with questions about
your order, eg password access for a site, or webinar access for
a single event if you have one, or delivery of DVDs if there's an
issue -- those types of order fulfillment questions are fine of course.

.. but I can't answer trading questions about how you should trade, or which of
my products is best for you individually (as I'm not an investment
advisor and can't give personal/individual advice).

For DVDs, please allow at least 2-3 weeks before contacting me
with any type of request regarding "where's my order" as that's how
long it takes to deliver them (often 3-4 weeks for international orders).
Do not email me if it's been less than 2 business weeks from the date
of your DVD order under any circumstances.

For premium trading systems that include webinar and/or membership
site access, allow at least 7-10 business days to get your welcome email
that has access directions in it. If you are eligible for a product that
includes ongoing webinars (StockTradingSuccess, ForexFirepower, ForexOnFire,
ADX Mastery, ETF Mastery), you will get an email within several days before
each scheduled webinar that you're eligible for.

For ChartScans alerts and Daytrading University online course access,
allow at least 48 hours from the date of your order before contacting me
with access requests; your time starts from the time I send your login/pass
and you will get whatever full time you have registered for.

Please read the FAQs for each site carefully, as I've tried to answer
common questions as best as I can, to help. If it's not answered in
the FAQ area, odds are I won't have an answer for you, so please
refrain from contacting me unless it's urgent.

+ If you have questions about how to use a specific indicator
I discuss, or trading strategy, please hold those til a members'
webinar, for those courses (like BreakoutMastery.com, StockTradingSuccess.com
or similar) that include webinars. See the DaytradingUniversity.com
homepage for the current schedule of webinar events. You're welcome to ask me
questions during my webinars, if webinars are included (most courses do not
include live webinars, though a few do) up to 3-5 questions per trader per
event, and I'll answer you during the event. But not by email.

+ I'm not your personal advice counselor: I don't have time to spend
hours answering personal question emails, I'm a professional -- so please
do not ask for advice or email questions. Just because you buy an
information product from me does not mean you also get free extra
email questions and answer advice as though I were your
personal consultant. Besides, it's not fair to me, to ask a
famous professional for email advice. Would you do that with
a book author you'd bought a book or video from, or your doctor,
or CPA, or other paid professional? Nope. I need to set fair
boundaries. It's not right to try and take my time up by asking
me for personal email access or consulting time and not pay me
additional fees for consulting support. And because I do not offer my
time for money any longer, there is no way to ask me questions
(except solely during seminars/webinars).

If I offered a platinum $10,000-$25,000 expensive mastermind group
or coaching program, I'd likely include (limited) personal email access.
I'm currently not offering anything like that, nor do I plan to.

For example, when I had my Fortune-500 clients, none
of them would call me on the phone or email me
to ask extra advice, and neither should any trader. They
would contact me to schedule a paid hour (or more) of my
time, to ask me for my advice, in addition to whatever other time
or resources/services they bought from me. I no longer offer my time
to people on an hourly basis, at any price (I used to charge
$2K/hour as my standard hourly rate)...so the *only* time
you can ask questions of me is during my live events, in person
and during my online webinar events. That's it. Period.

+ No time: as I am a one-man company who has thousands of
customers who I'm trying to take care of, in addition to
my own trading each day, I don't have time. If I took just 2
minutes each day to answer 100 emails, that would be over 3
hours of my valuable time, time which I'd rather spend trading
and/or with my family. So I can't answer emails anymore.

+ Even if I wanted to, I cannot answer individual questions
since I'm not a registered investment advisor, so I can't
answer your questions even if I wanted to, per SEC regs.
I can share what I'm doing personally in my own trades, but
none of what I share is to be construed as individual trading
nor investment advice; I can only publish strategies and general
information impersonally, by relating my own trading experience.
I cannot give you personal trading advice, so I won't.

+ And, for that reason, I can't answer questions like "I'm this
kind of trader, which of your systems is best for me?" since
I can't advise you regarding suitability of trading products.

+ Just because you buy something from me does not mean you
get to ask a lot of individual trading questions. If there's ever
a problem with shipment/delivery/password access etc, you can
inquire about that, though I've had very very few of those.
Buying something from me does NOT mean you get to email me
with questions; that's not included, and never will be. I'm busy.

If you buy a book or video from a real estate pro, would you think
to ask him all of your personal questions about real estate? Or buy
a video or seminar from a self-improvement guru, do you get to email him
incessantly with self-development questions? Or any other well-known
public figure? Nope. And I have to stop answering personal email
questions, too - or I won't be able to have enough time for my trading,
business and family.

I've documented what I've learned in my various trading
resources, but I will not be answering any individual trader
questions ever again. Have a great trading year!

Dec 1, 2009: Looks like most folks respected my wishes; thanks. Again, to ask questions you can participate in one of my occasional webinars, I give generously of my time during those and take time to answer all questions. But I can't be interrupted daily with email trading questions from thousands of traders, it doesn't make sense for me to spend my life answering emails for free, does it? Thanks for your interest and support!

Remember, I can give generously of my time and expertise during the webinars I have scheduled, for system owners, but I do not answer emails for free. Free consulting email support is not included in anything I offer of course; I'm a professional. I hope that's crystal clear.

If you require email handholding from people and expect to be able to get expert answers for free from a top industry professional via email, you'll have to pursue learning with somebody else. I'm a real trader (and run this entire business myself), so I simply don't have time, other than webinars, to answer individual questions. That's clearly outlined in the FAQ areas on my sites. Just because you bought something from me doesn't mean you get freebie email support for all your trading questions. Please respect my time.

Here's an email I had to send to a trader, unfortunately, who sent me over 9 emails in just a few weeks. Remember: my pricing is reasonable, so I can't take time to answer individual questions. Save them for webinars, and/or read the FAQ page on my main site carefully. If you're the type of trader who wants continuous email support and answers to questions on a personal level on the time, I do not provide that, so you're best advised to go elsewhere. I need to guard my time carefully, so that I can work on articles, courses, webinars and seminars that benefit thousands of traders. So my time is allocated to that, not individual email support.

Thanks for your interest in my services; however it appears you can't
follow my request to not send me personal emails (you've sent many
this last couple of months), and I'm not able to personally respond to
them, as I told you about in an earlier support ticket. As I said, I
answer trader questions during my webinars, not via email. And yet
you've sent me a lot of emails despite my request. I'm not sure why
you didn't respect my wishes.

So, I've taken you off my main email list, and request that you not
contact me any further; nor may you purchase anything from me. As I
explained earlier, I'm not set up to answer weekly or other personal
emails from traders; as a one-man company I simply do not have time.
I could hire a support staff, but then I'd have to raise prices to
cover that. Instead I try to keep my costs down, and ask that traders
read directions, and follow my guidelines, if they're to learn with
me....

Thanks anyways, there's many other trading educators out there that
have large staffs of people that can answer a lot of personal
questions from traders, one of those may be more suited to the level
of support you're looking for; I am not. Best wishes for success in
your trading, and I wish you well with it. The time it's taken me to
write this, is time I could've spent on writing an industry article to
help many other traders, for example.

Here's another email I needed to send to a trader in January 2013, who kept asking me questions during my Saturday "Trading Week Ahead" webinars, (no questions about trading), and emailed me quite a few times in just a couple of weeks after ordering from me. Remember, my courses never include individual email support so please respect my wishes and do not email me with those; save them for premium webinars, for course(s) you've bought from me that include webinar support.

I want to make sure you're clear on how to ask questions with me:

a) I do generously answer questions during premium events (not the Saturday ones). I answer questions solely about how to use my trading strategies, not about what you should be personally trading or how to set up your software (I'm not an individual investment advisor, I'm an educator, so by law I cannot tell you what to do).

b) I do not answer individual questions by email, ever, due to the volume of email I get. See:

I appreciate that you want to learn trading; my traders understand to keep questions for during the premium (not Saturday) webinars, and to not email me with individual trading questions. This is because I have hundreds of traders as customers and just me to run the business, so I don't answer "how to trade" questions via email (or during Saturday or other no-cost events). I can answer trading related questions dealing with the strategies I teach, during the premium members' webinars.

Please confirm that you will respect my guidelines moving forward; thanks. I work hard for everyone, so it helps that everyone understands and follows these simple guidelines I have set up for traders who learn with me.
