Trading AIG UAUA GGC GGWPQ today and more; also in small 200sh FRE/FNM on today's spikes up, and RDN. AIG the best today; GGC was yesterday, for volatile movers.
Another $600 WINNING Day today.... here's some of my real trades, all the P&Ls for today's IB account trades:
GNW was a great momentum doubler play, sold right under the 8, added to on the way up.
Note from my trade confirmations, P&L screencaps below, that I sold within a NICKEL of the exact top of GNW.
Aced it, baby.
==========================
TRADING TIP OF THE DAY:
Despite the Nas/S&P being relatively rangebound and down today,
our NYSE TRIN was well under .5 for much of today's session, so
I traded aggressively, and profited nicely (+$715.95 to be exact).
PRO TRADING TIP: If you look at the divergence in the NASDAQ vs
NYSE trins on an intraday chart for today's action, you'll see
that the NASDAQ trin spiked into the close, so I didn't buy
much into the close for those stocks, for intraday/swing trades.

Monday Aug 10th: Strong action in autos, casino stocks
Monday Aug 10th 2009:
11:04am EST Strong moves in CAR/HTZ/LVS/MGM as well as others; so far small share trading, gaps up in FNM/FRE, keeping AIG on radar
Here's my trades so far, the ones I've closed out today:
Made a decent $400+ today, trading FNM/FRE/BC/SKS into the close using my "Momentum Doubler" strategy was profitable.

Trading light today following yesterday's gap down/minor selling pressure in the markets. Best movers today were AXL HURN. Made small $:
Nice to see the market climbing back up; we'll see if the COMPQ can get over critical 1960 resistance ahead, or if that's a ceiling for the market. I'm thinning down many positions and moving larger $ back to cash (roughly 20-25% cash now in the IB acct)

8:21 am Despite a small market bounce yesterday, big-picture I'm still looking at a short market unless the COMPQ recovers 1960. So far the futures are down this morning, so I'll be looking to a) tighten in trailing stops on all open overnight/swing trading longs and b) looking to buy the short ETFs (SDS FAZ ERY) if they take out new highs, if the market sells off.
Update: market did recover the 1960; we'll see where it goes tomorrow. Took a total of -$26 net loss today; main goal was to lighten up positions and move more to cash-heavy vs all equities, since I'm still skeptical of the market moving up, unless it holds over the 1960. My active trading IB account is now 35% cash (during uptrending markets I keep it virtually all-in stocks; now I'm 35% cash, with close trailing stops on other opens, to preserve capital).

Aug 20 2009: Momentum Doubler win in AIG
Here's a small-share WINNER in AIG, beautiful trade, sold the exact top at 30.1:
back in AIG small, also adding to SIRI, others on breakouts; new wins in AIG and others - AIG's a great stock for daytrading today, in and out. Traded AIG back into the range, just small shares though; resolving to trade more aggressively, larger size on new breakouts in other trading days, this one was a could've would've traded more aggressively type play; as of 11am it went from 27 to 35 on a strong series of two sequential breakouts (27-30, then later from 30.5 to 35)

As I said in last night's email, I'd be looking to trade AIG, FNM/FRE, it was those two (FNM/FRE) that produced today's biggest winners - great charts!
Here's my actual P&L so far today:
I'll likely continue trading FNM/FRE/AIG throughout today's session on new breakouts/breakdowns. Also CAL and other airlines (LCC) strong.

of the 3 FNM/FRE/AIG, FNM has the best pattern here in the premarket, at 1.92 right before the opening bell. I'm long 210 shares from 1.72 overnight, will add to breakouts, or scale down if it loses support, likely under 1.85

Made a quick $235 profit by selling 260 shares VG from yesterday's buy into the premarket gap up today.
PROOF:
STRATEGY Notes:
Buying high-volume stocks into the market close is a great strategy I use to capitalize on these types of gains, this was a super trade.

Sold a bit of AIG here into the big gap up, what a move! Bought just a few shares into yesterday's high-volume close, it had run from 34 to 38, now gapped up to 41-42 region this morning. Nice.
