April 29th 2009
Yesterday before the bell I initiated new positions ("shopping into the close") in these stocks, the majority are up in the premarket here:
BGP BYD COF DAL GGWPQ GNBT HGSI HOV JNY LVS MGM MTG NVAZ OEH SIRI SSW THC UAUA UCBH UIS ZLC
Trader activity: pull up the charts from April 28th and see why I'd enter positions in those specific stocks... usually it's either for what looks to be oversold, eg SSW, or those closing on strength (JNY), my preferred entry approach, eg buying day high closes into the close of market.

I entered close trailing stops this morning on all positions to lock in gains and minimize stop costs for all, a few (eg MTG) are down in the premarket, so I want to minimzie stops on those, and maximize gains in ones like MGM, which is up a bit.

Here's my complete IB screencap of positions I'm in - the blue is for profitable ones, the red for ones in the red:

I'm thinking about selling my MGM if it drops sub 6.0 here, it's at 6.05 at 8:44EST.

9:48 WINNER! Here's my P&L -- I'm up +$429 for the day so far. Rocking the market.

And here's the confirmations so far:

Remember - ONLY learn from people who are ACTUAL traders who can WIN and prove it like I do with actual P&L confirmations and screencaps like this. My trading challenge "Show Me The Money" movement is on -- dominating the trading industry.

TIP: I like to listen to motivational music while trading, it's fun.

3:18pm I've been closing out all positions, still in just 500 MGM (halted), all cash here for now; market definitely feels strong, but overdue for pullback/profit taking/red days, so I'll initiate smaller positions (30-100 shares) if any, into the close. I have been SELLING into strength and am increasingly skeptical about this rally able to continue for so long for upcoming days; trailing close stops on position trades and going to cash in my swing/daytrading account.
TRINs still bullish, under 1 so I'm not shorting, just closing out open longs into strength.

3:55pm EST Bought small shares in these into the close: AET BGP BKC BLUD COF ETFC GCI GGWPQ GNBT LNC RF SRZ SSW TRMPQ UCBH XL ZION ZLC
we'll see if they gap up or down tomorrow

Hopefully whatever news MGM releases isn't bk or other negative; we'll see.

Update post-market: MGM great news on financing deal coming through, likely we'll see a gap up, which I'll sell into on any sign of weakness, I'm long just 500 shares in my daytrading account from right before the halt.

MGM is going to be a hugely volatile stock (like DNDN lately) tomorrow, I'll be actively trading it throughout the day. This is gonna get good. Real fast.

Strong moves in casino stocks on MGM sympathy, eg LVS WYNN, big gap down in SQNM, move up in SBUX looks to has 15.4 resistance; SRZ LIZ OMX also up. Put trail stop on my 500 shares MGM in my daytrading account that are open; added to my position trading fidelity acct 1k shares mgm here.

12:18pm EST - Now it's time to have some fun with Mr. Wall Street. MGM breakout over the 9 here, let's see if it holds. As Brian Tracy says, it's how we handle adversity, that counts... so I kept a reasonably cool head... frustrating though to not have my TWS working due to qwest port block this morning!

12:25am EST April 30, 2009
Having a great day, here's my confirmations so far:

And despite a rocky start to the day since no trader's workstation available, I'm doing great with my P&L now:

Added size to MGM position, in both position and daytrading accounts.

2:05pm EST
TIP: I've seen on both of the times that MGM shot up quickly, there was a huge volume block 2-3 minutes before the move up.
So I'm watching to see a large volume bar, slight move up in price, then I'll buy a lot more, in anticipation of large move.
These have both happened in afternoons (study earlier day's charts). This is probably why they halted it yesterday, because
the last time they release in-market good news about financing coming through, MGM shot up 1+ point quickly.... MGM will be
one of my top stocks for daytrading during the week ahead, along with LVS and WYNN. For now looks like 8.5 area is resistance.
Note that MGM (like APOL for that matter) is exceptionally hard to day trade, because of the false b/os/b/ds near every .10 resistance;
tells me institutional traders are scalping it; "every penny counts"; I've done much better swing trading MGM rather than intraday trading
it. LVS is easier to daytrade, but not by much.

Others I'm in include APOL BGP BZH CBG CNW COCO DDR EK ETFC HP HST LIZ LVS NVAX PTEN SQNM SRZ UAUA WYNN. Most I've bought
for swing trades on strength (except ones like SQNM/ETFC on weakness for possible bounces; skeptical though).

Here's my current actual real positions I'm trading into today's close; I'll likely add a couple more if anything stands out. Note relatively wide stops on small shares for many positions.

I *LOVE* trading.

Hmm looks like my MGM will sell into the close here, it's at 8.33 at 3:08 pm, I'll add if it either gets back over the 8.6+ or drops low, eg sub 7.5 then pivots.

To success,

Ken

Yeah! Market's rocking today.

Sold 700 MGM up here at the 8.83, still holding 1300. In the money!

LVS BYD CENX CRZO BGP others skyrocketing up on the open... super day so far. I'm making money.

10:40am
Closed out all 2k shares MGM up here near the high 8s, back in small 100 shares, I'll be in and out of this all day.

Note: I just talked w/IB to ask why I was getting slippage on odd-lot (non multiple of 100, eg 30-50 share) trades, and
he'd said that it was because those need to be filled via ISLD, which may not be at the same inside market as the
complete exchange. So that's a good technical thing to know, eg maybe use LMT orders for fills when trading
odd lots, because MKT may have slippage, when trading size other than in increments of 100 shares.

Bought 2000 MGM 3:40 into the close. Let's hope the reaction to earnings is positive.

Whew! what a day - bought a lot of stocks into the close, we'll see if they do well into tomorrow's open...

Here's my P&L and confirmations from today, I made over $900 in *real* trading profits today - yeah!

No I'm not some "personality" on financial tv waving and shouting. I'm a trader. And a trainer of traders. It's what I do.

Best wishes for success,

May 4th after-market:
MGM up after hours on positive earnings, glad I pulled the trigger.

Here's the top part of my unrealized P&L wins so far in some of the positions I put on into today's close. I love taking money off Wall Street. It's what I do.

continued...

See that $1,100 from my 2k shares of MGM? I hope it'll spike up even higher in tomorrow's premarket; we'll see. Wish I'd bought more LVS/WYNN for a sympathy play, however I'm more bullish on MGM than LVS so that's why lighter shares in it and WYNN.

Here's the two sell P&L confirmations from my closing out MGM during the open:

3:20pm Daytraded MGM all day today, doing pretty well on the breakouts between 12.5-13.5 -- just bought sm shares for overnight hold; will see if it moves in sympathy w/LVS earnings due out later.

Also bought small shares LVS for hold into earnings, more bullish on MGM myself.

Sold these positions into premarket gaps up to bank a quick $600 profit already today... I'm on fire. I'll re-enter these if they continue up, but in this market I like to sell opening gaps up, to bank $$$.

Whew! Glad I sold all those into the premarket, I correctly anticipated today's selloff action. Now I've been buying a lot of stocks for bounce plays (nailed CVC for example), and others on small shares for test trades for potential bounces; I'll add to those that I'm right about, that get more buyers.
