Tuesday Dec 8th and my trading's cold today (like the weather here in Colorado, single-digits and we're snowed in), in the red a bit as you can see from trades below; took shots at short ETFs but market chopped around, starting to bounce here 11:10am EST; we'll see:
Traders ask if I post examples of losing days as well as winners, yes I do of course, today's a down day. Key is keeping it small on net down days. Most of the reds/stops were on swing trades who triggered stops on overnight holds that gapped down/continued down into the open.
Strategy Tip: I often place buy/stop orders to get back into the positions I'm stopped out of, if they recover intraday (example I have a buy/stop order in for ELON if recovers over the 11.08, low-potential trade however, for long term swing recovery). Also have orders in for UAUA and other favorites.

These pages contain excerpts of actual trades I've made; it's not a complete record of every single trade I make. Some days I'll take trading wins or losses that I do not take the time to screencap and post online; it's a partial record of some of my trades. Note that I am not making income nor profitability claims of any kind. Most traders lose regardless of what they do. The majority of my personal income comes from my training business, and though I'm a net profitable (small-share, under 5k shares per trade) trader, I make more income from my business training traders than I do in trading profits. I try to capture the best highlights of successful days so you can see practical examples of what I'm trading. There are also days in which I incur losses which are not shown. This is simply a partial record showing highlights of some of my successful trading days. No representation is being made that other traders, including customers, will be able to trade like I do. Generally expected (average/typical) trader results are that all traders incur trading losses and most do not become profitable, regardless of the training they get. Trading is a speculative, high-risk activity.

Looks like airline stocks (CAL/UAUA) and SNSS have strong breakouts, here's my closed-out trades so far as of 11:03am today in my IB account:
Also THANKS to the trader who asked me about SNSS in last night's ADXMastery.com webinar, I traded it this morning and made a nice win,
selling (as you can see above) at 1.82 and again at 2.4 (the near-exact TOP), here's the chart:
BUYING THE BOTTOM BOUNCE in GGWPQ Today (small shares, 35 shares at 10:15EST):
Here's proof of a successful entry in this stock today, you can see I entered at 7.52, a great bottom-bounce play:
This was one rare instance of where I added to a currently in-the-red existing swing trade, because it looked like a perfect oversold bottom to buy; in this case it worked out correctly. This was the sole trade I made in GGWPQ today. Unfortunately I'm in from higher on the total position, so it's still in the red a bit. We'll see what it does in the days ahead.
TIP: It sometimes takes a very long time to get a fill on "q" stocks like GGWPQ; it took a few minutes (!) to get a fill on this particular entry; that's one reason they're riskier than regular listed/nasdaq stocks.

Today wasn't good for me, ended up net down a bit as of 3:42pm EST, trying to trade volatiles like CECO/PALM, which didn't go my way:
As always, the key is keeping stops small when things don't go your way. Another day in the markets.

Nice breakouts in winners like today's AXL UAUA AHD CSIQ HTZ OWW; my only regret is I wasn't trading larger size, especially on UAUA HTZ, very clean sustained breakout charts.
Here's all the closed trades in my IB daytrading account so far today as of 10:29am EST:
Update 3:58pm - extended the day's gains which is nice, here's the latest P&L into the close:

Dec 24th 2009: Happy Holidays to all...
Here's an example of trade entries from this morning, almost all were automatically filled via buy limit orders I had set previously, a good example of slowly scaling into breakout charts on small shares:
(these are not trading recommendations; these are just what I personally entered this morning for my own account, as an educational example you can learn from).

Some small-share trading today, closing some winning swings, managing P&Ls, selling breakouts. I also enter new buy-stop orders to start scaling back in on ones I've just sold, in case I didn't sell the exact tops (which is very hard to do); so it gets me back in on positions I've closed out, starting over again from the beginning with small-share entries that then scale up in size if the breakout continues.
Here's all my closed trades as of 10:13am today in my IB daytrading account:

Took more stops than wins today, mostly on airline stocks stop outs; got back in sm shares; trading ZLC SRZ CBAK etc for potential recovery/bounce plays on 2d highs.
